Learn Tagalog operates as a two-sided marketplace connecting native Filipino tutors ("Tutors") with students ("Students") who wish to learn the Tagalog language. This Policy applies to all Users of the Platform, including visitors, Students, Tutors, and prospective applicants.

By accessing or using the Platform, you consent to the data practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree with our practices, please do not use the Platform.

1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

We collect information you voluntarily provide when you register, use features, or communicate with us:

For All Users:

• Name and email address
• Account authentication data (via Clerk authentication service)
• Profile information (bio, teaching specialties, learning goals, language proficiency)

• Optional: WhatsApp number (for application tracking only)

For Students:

• Payment information (processed securely by Stripe; we do not store raw credit card data)

For Tutors:

• Location/timezone and availability preferences
• Introductory video (hosted via embedded YouTube link)
• Professional background, certifications, and teaching experience
• Banking details and identity verification documents (collected and stored securely by Stripe Connect; we do not access raw KYC data)
• Lesson completion records and payout history

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you access the Platform, we and our third-party service providers may collect certain information automatically:

3.3 Between Students and Tutors

To facilitate lessons, we share limited information between matched Users:

• Students see Tutor profiles (name, photo, bio, specialties, rate, availability)
• Tutors see Student profiles (name, learning goals, proficiency level)
• Both parties may exchange messages and lesson notes via the Platform's built-in system

We prohibit Users from sharing personal contact information (email, phone, social media) for off-platform transactions. Violations may result in Account termination and liquidated damages per our Terms of Service.

3.4 For Legal Reasons

We may disclose your information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Learn Tagalog, our Users, or the public.

3.5 Business Transfers

If Learn Tagalog is involved in a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or bankruptcy, your information may be transferred as a business asset. We will notify you via email and/or prominent notice on the Site of any change in ownership or uses of your information.
